CA green lights ‘ON’ for DOJ and DILG Secretaries, deliberation on DOLE chief’s ad interim appointment deferred

PUBLIC SERVICE PERSONIFIED. Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Catibayan Remulla and the Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin De Castro Abalos Jr. got the Commission on Appointments’ “green light” on their ad interim appointments, during the body’s plenary session today, presided over by Senate President / CA Chairperson Juan Miguel “Migz” F. Zubiri. Remulla and Abalos’ appointments were confirmed by the Commission upon the favorable recommendations of the Justice and Judicial and Bar Council Committee Chairperson Sen. Francis “Tol” N. Tolentino and the Interior and Local Government Committee Chairperson Sen. Francis “Chiz” G. Escudero at the same plenary session. These recommendations were duly seconded by other officers and members of the Commission, who separately extolled the officials for their integrity, merit and fitness in public service. Meanwhile, the deliberation on the ad interim appointment of Labor Secretary Bienvenido Estudillo Laguesma was deferred until the next scheduled committee meeting due to lack of material time.
