CA gave its consent to the nominations of two DFA senior officials, deliberation on DFA Secretary Manalo’s ad interim appointment deferred

CA NODDED. The Commission on Appointments (CA), in its first hybrid plenary session in the First Regular Session of the 19th Congress today, presided over by Senate President / CA Chairperson Juan Miguel “Migz” F. Zubiri, gave its consent to the nominations of Mr. Antonio Manuel Revilla Lagdameo as Permanent Representative of the Republic of the Philippines to the United Nations (UN) New York, United States of America and Amb. Jose Manuel Del Gallego Romualdez as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United States of America. The nominations of Lagdameo and Romualdez hurdled the confirmation process and got the Commission’s approval in the plenary session after the favorable recommendation of Foreign Affairs Committee Chairperson Sen. Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada. Meanwhile, the deliberation on the ad interim appointment of Foreign Affairs Secretary Amb. Luis Enrique Austria Manalo was deferred until the next scheduled committee meeting. (CA-CTS, 08/31/22)
